Saletoga Sands Resort & Spa

The staff were lovely and helpful. They helped us hire a car and Darren was so great to draw a map for us to tour around by ourselves. the free breakfast was great mix of western and some traditional foods. Mexican buffet was amazing and the Fia Fia night an absolute must do. The resort is on Such a beautiful beach front and the free use of water equipment was handy. The kids got to snorkel, standup paddle and kayak. The young man helping us with the water sport equipment was also so lovely and helpful. Our room was opposite the pool which was loud when trying relax on the porch but surprisingly sound proof inside the villa. The room was comfortable and the pool and beach was great. The outside shower with warm water was awesome and very well used by us. The good bye song was lovely touch. Overall a fabulous resort.

I loved that it was family friendly. Our room was right next to the kids playground and kids swimming pool which was convenient for us. The room was beautiful and spacious with high ceilings - perfect place to relax after a long day of swimming. I loved that they had dvds you could hire to watch in your room, felt like I was a United Video again lol. The resort is beautiful, makes the drive out worth your time. I would defs go there again.

We stayed in both a Deluxe Villa (5 nights) and Beachfront Villa (2 nights) and enjoyed them both. We hired a car from the airport for our week in Samoa and I highly recommend doing this - you can go to the various attractions earlier in the day before other resort buses arrive meaning it is calmer and a nicer experience. The rooms are large with plenty of airflow and air conditioning. A small fridge was perfect for the few beverages we bought at the local store. Food was generally great, having the choice of the more relaxed vibe open fale for themed nights was cool (the BBQ night was excellent) and the main restaurant food was always good for us. When the tide goes out the beach is nice for swimming/kayaking etc. but when the tide comes in it can be a bit hectic so just make sure to time it right. The chap at the boatshed was brilliant. The staff at the happy hour bar on the jetty were excellent and it was a great party atmosphere. You can get the resort wifi in the reception, restaurant and pool area which was fine - I don't want to always be connected while on holiday so if that's a problem for you then look elsewhere. Reception and restaurant staff were friendly and helpful - we had many questions and they were always happy to help us and gave good advice. Resort grounds staff did an amazing job tidying the area throughout the day so was always pleasant to walk around. You need to remember this is a remote resort and this was great for us. A lot of complaints about it being remote which I think is unfair as all you need to do is pull up a map and it's very obvious.

This resort was great, we took our two kids (7 & 10) who had the best time. A few tips for travelling parents staying here: - we got room 207, a family room in front of the kids pool. Initially we were disappointed we didn’t have sea views as many rooms did, but turned out to be a blessing as kids played in the pool for hours while we could drink and read on our deck while watching them. - we brought with us inflatable pool toys, they were a hit. - the resort has not much amenities nearby, bring food/duty free booze with you. Obviously you can buy food/drink at the resort, which we did each day, but we tried to do our own lunches as can add up with a family if 4. FYI - there’s no microwave in the room but is a bar sized fridge. There’s also a few tiny shops but you need a car, also not great options at all the shops, better to stock up in apia if you can (or take on flight with you) - the breakfast is great, lots of good options! - the fiafia night was very good. - the internet is not good, this was not a problem as it’s good to get rid of devices, but if you want to download anything do this prior to arriving in Samoa. - we hired a car from blue pacific rentals, was great to have flexibility as resort is a little way out, but you can also hire cars at the resort for day trips if you want. - they have heaps of activity gear to hire, snorkels, life vests, kayaks etc all for free. We brought our own snorkels and reef shoes as we went to lots of snorkel spots around the island, but if you are just at the resort (which is a great snorkelling spot) they are all there. Highly recommend this resort, the family rooms are perfect sized, staff lovely, pools and amenities excellent and the gardens were impeccable.

Beautiful tropical gardens. Individual private fales that were very generously spacious, spotlessly clean and a large verandah to sit on. Delicious variety for buffet breakfasts, including gluten-free and vegetarian options. BBQ and salad night was delicious. Large welcoming dinning area. Swimming pool inviting. Kids pool was great size. Happy hour to slow down at the end of the day. Hot stone massage was exceptional. Filtered water close by to each fale. Kindly extended our checkout time as we were travelling with a sick small child.
